Robert Eddy

7 Januray 1988
2006 NAB AFL Rookie Draft Pick No. 39
2008 Rookie elevation
2008 AFL debut
2010 AFL Grand Final (Runners Up)

Recruited from the Gippsland Power, Rob is a midfielder who finds plenty of the ball. A graduate of the AIS/AFL Academy in 2004/2005, Rob represented Vic Country in the 2006 NAB AFL U18 Championships, where he was named in the All-Australian side.

Eddy had a consistent season in 2007, playing for St Kilda VFL affiliate Casey. His performances was enough for the Saints to promote him from the rookie list early in 2008 and he was again rewarded when he made his debut in Round 13 against Fremantle.

Following his AFL debut, Eddy was part of the Saintsí revival in the second half of 2008, playing the last 13 games.

In 2009, Rob played 8 of the 22 matches of the season, where the Saints qualified in first position for the 2009 AFL Finals Series.

Eddy bounced in and out of the St Kilda side in 2010 but held his spot in the finals and played the second grand final with several broken bones. He was surprisingly delisted at the end of the season despite his late season form, however was able to secure a spot on the Saints Rookie List.

The midfielder/forward has a big engine, is hard at the ball and creates goals with his forward pressure and will hopefully push his way into a more regular position in the Saints senior side.
