Wayde Skipper

D .O.B:
1 March 1983
2000 National AFL Draft Pick No. 70 (Bulldogs)
2003 Best Bulldogs First Year Player
2003 AFL Debut
2010 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, Pick No. 13 (Hawthorn)

Originally from Perth, and having played his junior football with West Perth, Wayde is a 193cm tall key position player that has a lot to offer. After spending his first two years in the VFL, Wayde developed into a key position player with an occasional stint in the ruck.

In 2003 he made his AFL debut playing 12 games for the year, showing the football world that he is very capable of playing at this level. His efforts were rewarded by the Bulldogs as he was named the Best First Year Player.

Some of Wayde’s better performances include his 5 goal haul against Geelong in round 17, 2005 and his 31 hit-outs, 12 possessions and 7 marks against Essendon in round 3, 2006.

At the end of the 2009 season, Skipper was picked up by Hawthorn with Pick 13 in the Rookie Draft after finishing equal 6th in the JJ Liston Trophy. The football world has seen only glimpses of his potential and hopefully, given the right opportunities, he can gain some consistency and develop into a valuable key position player for the Hawks.
