2007 NAB AFL Draft Pick No. 44
Scott Simpson played for Dandenong/Mt Eliza as a tall key forward. Originally from a rugby background, Simpson is a determined player who only began playing the AFL football code as recently as three years ago. He has a professional work ethic and was drafted by the Cats because of his size, agility and goal kicking ability.
Scoring 14.3 in the beep test at the 2007 AFL National Draft Camp, Simpson is a tireless and diligent worker who makes a conscious effort to play in front, which results in him taking numerous marks throughout the game. Scott is a great competitor who fits the mould of a true centre half forward. He now has one of the hardest tasks in AFL football, trying to slot into the rampaging Geelong outfit as they strive for back-to-back glory. With his dedication and application, Scott will no doubt create headaches for the clubs selection committee in 2008.
